About Me

My name is Darlene Castro and I have been obsessed with calligraphy ever since I was in fifth grade. My earliest memory with calligraphy starts with Harry Potter and wanting to write with a quill on parchment. I once got a rather bad burn in sixth grade while heating up some beach sand to make a quill from a (probably fake) feather from Hobby Lobby– this is a testament to how extreme I could get. Now, nine years later, I’m a little less dumb, but just as obsessed.  Stay tuned for doodles, research, tips, and general calligraphy silliness.
